Mountain Top Moments

admin 2018 Tour

“Auntie! I can touch the sky!” I glanced up and smiled at Fredrick who had climbed to the top of a rope fixture.
“Look how close you are to the clouds, Fredrick!” I called out.
I watched him stretch his little body as far as it could go, left hand held high above him, right hand clenched tightly around the rope, trying to touch the white clouds.
“I can see everything from here! I am on a mountain!” He cried out to me.
His joy was apparent to all of those around us; his laughter contagious as passers-by joined in his excitement.
He was on a mountain and he was rejoicing. A few moments later, it was time to leave.
“Fredrick, it’s time to go. Climb down.”
“Auntie, I like it up here. I do not want to come down.”
“I know, but sometimes we have to do what we dont like because it’s time to move on.”
Hand in hand, we left the park.
Often, we are on a proverbial mountain top, hands held high to touch the clouds, happiness on our faces, and for a moment everything is right in the world. Often, we are like Fredrick, able to see the beauty of God’s creation in our lives and we are full of peace and gratitude to our Father for gifting us such things.
Touring with Daraja has opened my eyes to many more moments that God has deemed a mountain top moment for me. Some moments I never would have considered to be so special. Moments like this one with Fredrick.
I’m learning that God can use anything in my life to show His goodness, that any moment can be a mountain top moment if only I look for it. Though I do know there will be times I am in the valley, when I will not want to leave my mountain top, even so my God is still good and will lead me up the mountain once again.
Much like Fredrick, we will have to say goodbye to the sky and follow where God will lead us just to find another beautifulview from a new mountain. God will always show us more mountain top moments.

Though I do know there will be times I am in the valley, when I will not want to leave my mountain top, even so my God is still good and will lead me up the mountain once again.
