After spending almost 3 weeks in West Monroe, Louisiana at Camp Ch-Yo-Ca it was with heavy hearts that we left the cabins which had come to feel like home. It was such a blessing to be able to spend the holidays together as Daraja family, and also to form stronger friendships with those who loved us so well during our stay. Just like any other time when we find ourselves having to pack up and move on, we were sad to say goodbye…yet deep down we know it’s worth it!
The rest was much needed, but the work God has for us is still to be done. With the Fall portion of tour at a close, we anxiously await what He has in store for the choir during the Spring. That being said, we are so grateful for the radical hospitality we experienced through Pastor Mike, White’s Ferry Road Church of Christ, and its members. Starting with Robert Ables who organized everything, to the Bromleys, our host homes, and the countless community members who came to visit us – We cannot forget your constant care, support, and fellowship. We were blown away by the extreme generosity of families like the Robertson’s and Howard’s – You were such an amazing reflection of Christ’s love to us, and we ourselves hope to emulate your example to everyone we meet along our travels.
Our prayer is that as in Luke 6:38 you will be richly blessed, as you have been such a blessing to us. For it says “Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” We pray that God will provide for you and your ministry in such a way that your cup runneth over. There is no doubt that He is using your families to further His Kingdom here on earth, and we trust He’ll continue to do so.
